How it works

One controller. Every part of your backyard.

Sensors measure, the controller decides and your equipment acts. Then see every input and output, with a few ideas for what you can connect.

How Control Freak works. Your backyard: filter pump, heater, lights, salt system and valves. Sensors: air, pool and spa temperature, a fourth thermometer of your choice, a flow switch and a pressure sensor, all wired to the controller. The app connects at home or through our cloud service; an optional Home Assistant connects Alexa, Google Home, Siri, Apple Watch and CarPlay. The controller follows tethers, freeze protection, themes and schedules, then runs pump speed, heat, lights and valves, wired back to your equipment.

Inputs and outputs. It senses through 4 temperature ports, 2 flow switch ports, 1 pressure sensor port, and Wi-Fi, Ethernet and USB-C. It runs 5 RS-485 ports, 8 high-voltage relay ports, 4 low-voltage relays and 8 valve actuator ports. Ideas: landscape lighting, variable-speed pumps, stepper-motor valves over RS-485, pool to spa, heating or cooling, fountains and waterfalls, a salt system with a flow safety, freeze protection, and your own idea on any relay.
